Vertical Expansion and Upgradation of the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital to International Standard

The “Vertical Expansion and Upgradation of the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital to International Standards” project aims to transform the existing 250-bed facility into a modern 500-bed specialized eye hospital in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. Implemented by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Health Services Division, the project includes vertical expansion, facility modernization, advanced medical equipment procurement, and professional training for healthcare staff. With an estimated cost of BDT 378.01 crore, the project will be implemented from October 2025 to June 2028 to strengthen the quality and accessibility of eye care services in Bangladesh.
