Why Plant Scholar (Brikkho Britti) Matters
The Problem
Many plantation campaigns end on planting day. Without ownership and monitoring, many trees do not survive.
The Innovation
Each selected youth becomes a Plant Scholar and takes responsibility for planting, caring, reporting and protecting trees.
The Reward
Successful care and survival are recognized through “বৃক্ষ বৃত্তি” or Plant Scholarship.
Official Launch at Jatiya Press Club
Plant Scholar (Brikkho Britti) was officially launched on 25 June 2026 at Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall, Jatiya Press Club, Dhaka. The event brought together environmental experts, academics, journalists, youth organizations and partner institutions to introduce a technology-driven model for tree plantation and long-term care.

How Plant Scholar (Brikkho Britti) Works

Select Scholars
Students and youth are selected from schools, colleges, universities, districts and communities.

Distribute Saplings
Each scholar receives a suitable tree sapling with care instructions and guidelines.

Plant & Geo-tag
Trees are planted and geo-tagged with location, species and scholar information.

Care & Report
Scholars submit photo updates and care reports periodically through the mobile app.

Monitor Survival
SRCL and partners monitor survival, growth and care quality via GIS / SAT-MRV.

Award Scholarship
Successful care and survival are recognized through “বৃক্ষ বৃত্তি” or Plant Scholarship.

Generate Impact Data
Supports ESG, CSR, carbon reporting and SDG contribution.
