The project aims to reconstruct a modern and secure district jail in Rangamati with improved facilities, ICT-based systems, and enhanced safety arrangements. It will also provide residential facilities for prison officers and staff to improve their living standards. The project supports the government’s vision of transforming prisons into correctional institutions through rehabilitation, training, and social reintegration of inmates. The estimated project cost is BDT 21,352.26 lakh, and the implementation period is from July 2025 to June 2028. It is categorized as an Orange Category project under the Environmental Conservation Rules, 2023.
